Credit Card Integration
Take advantage of the benefits you can gain by integrating your corporate credit card into Chrome River
The key benefits of enforcing corporate card usage and integration are:
- Fraud reduction - actual amounts spent are fed in from the card rather than manually entered (and potentially embellished) by employees
- Increased visibility to corporate spend - helps manage and control costs
- Enhanced end user experience - card transactions are made available to employees to simply "drag" onto their expense reports. Also improves employees' ability to reconcile their expenses
- Eliminate the need for cash advances - employees are able to use their corporate cards when traveling, thus eliminating the need for cash
Chrome River accepts data feeds from a wide variety of corporate card providers
Feeds are typically sent on a daily basis. The corporate card transactions are loaded to the users' Chrome River e-Wallet where they can easily be applied to expense reports. We ask that our customers consult with their corporate card provider as soon as possible to make them aware of the integration and to ensure they are able to transmit a daily feed to Chrome River in one of the specified formats (see below). Your Chrome River Project Manager and Integration Business Analyst will take the lead in coordinating the integration with your card provider.
Following is a list of our most common providers:
- American Express
- USBank
- Bank of America
- CitiBank
- BMO
- Diners
- Suntrust
- Capital One
- Barclaycard
- HSBC
- KeyBank

- City National Bank
- RBC
Note: Generally, we are able to support any provider who can provide data feeds in the following file formats:
- GL1025 (Amex)
- CDF3 (Mastercard)
- VCF4 (Visa)
- SDF (Diners)
Understanding your Corporate Card Program Type
You Chrome River Project Manager will need to understand the type of card program you have with your card provider. Following are the 3 options:
- Company Bill / Company Pay (Corporate Liability)
- The company is centrally billed on a monthly basis and pays the entire bill regardless of whether or not all transactions have been accounted for within the expense reporting system
- Individual Bill / Company Pay (Employee Liability)
- Individual employees are billed on a monthly basis and the company pays (on behalf of the employee) for transactions that have been applied to fully approved and exported expense reports (typically on a weekly or monthly basis)
- This approach typically involves Chrome River generating a remittance file to the card provider, detailing the amounts to apply toward various individual cards. It is important to discuss the remittance process early in the project to ensure Chrome River fully understands the remittance requirements of the card provider. Your Chrome River Business Analyst will be able to provide information regarding card providers / banks we have experience with.
- Individual Bill / Individual Pay (Employee Liability)
- Employees are billed individually and are responsible for making their own payments to the corporate card company. Employees will submit expense reports for the corporate card transactions and will be personally reimbursed from the company
