We always like to think that choosing Chrome River helps our customers to become more successful in the role and their careers overall. However, one of our customers certainly needed no help in achieving the pinnacle of her career.
We were delighted to learn that Cindy Heston, director of travel and events for Anthem, has been honored as a 2016 inductee into the prestigious Business Travel Hall of Fame, and will be recognised tonight at a gala reception. Cindy is one of four inductees in this, the sixth class, and one of just 33 overall.
Cindy oversees a team of 16 who manage the travel and event needs of more than 50,000 Anthem associates. Anthem recently added all meeting staff into her organization and events director to her title. Prior to joining Anthem in 2008, Cindy served for 19 years as global travel manager for Thomson/Technicolor. She began her travel industry career in sales at US Airways.
In addition to this honor, Business Travel News recognised Cindy in 2000 as Travel Manager of the Year, as a Best Practitioner in both 2008 and in 2013, and also listed Cindy as one of the 25 Most Influential Executives in the business travel industry in 2013.
Cindy joins just 32 others in the Business Travel Hall of Fame, which includes such luminaries as John D Hertz, founder of Hertz Car Rental, Curt Carlson, founder of Carlson Companies (now Carlson Wagonlit), Southwest Airlines co-founder Herb Kelleher, and Marriott chairman Bill Marriott.
On behalf of the entire Chrome River team, congratulations Cindy! We look forward to working with you for many years and hope that Chrome River can help contribute to your future success in the industry. We are honored to count such a highly-respected member of the travel industry as one of our customers, and feel that your choice of Chrome River as your partner for expense management solutions is a major validation of our solution.

Our choice of Chrome River EXPENSE was made in part due to the very user-friendly interface, easy configurability, and the clear commitment to impactful customer service – all aspects in which Chrome River was the clear winner. While Chrome River is not as large as some of the other vendors we considered, we found that to be a benefit and our due diligence showed that it could support us as well as any large players in the space, along with a personalized level of customer care.
We are excited to be able to enforce much more stringent compliance to our expense guidelines and significantly enhance our expense reporting and analytics. By automating these processes, we will be able to free up AP time formerly spent on manual administrative tasks, and enhance the role by being much more strategic.
